In May, the second grade class visited The Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro. Here students learned how staff and volun-teers care for sick and injured animals. Students learned what the most common injuries animals suffer and how the public can help in minimizing it. Students were taught on how staff members care for the animals and the passion in helping those in need. Students were treated to seeing how staff members feed the animals and making sure everyone had enough food. Similarly, students learned caring for animals is hard work and everyone works as a team. Be-fore going to the Marine Mammal Care Center, the second grade class collected bottles and cans learning about recycling and how we can care for our planet. The money collected from the bottles and cans were donated to the Marine Mammal Care Center.
